HISTORY

The dealer was from the beginning linked to the Alhambra and the flow of tourists who generated it, with some emphasis on the late nineteenth century.

To meet the commercial potential accounting for tourism, Abelard and Enrique Linares brothers opened a store in the Alhambra in which it could find objects of interest to the international clientele consisting mainly of crafts and antiques. For this reason we created workshops for the creation of certain works of local crafts as marquetry-inlay work of traditional timber-Nazari, scale models of parts of the Alhambra made in plaster and damascene-some of whose pieces are now in collections such as London-Khalili. Alongside these works made a significant number of photographs, some big panoramas, both grain and other cities of Spain and even Morocco, where, together with fellow photographer Granada Garzon, pioneers in this art in Spain.
In addition to these beautiful pieces of craftsmanship, from its beginnings with interesting antiques antique told that its founders were in Granada, quickly developing a thriving business would be expanded by creating branches, to the point that since the Twenties and Thirties until the Linares seventy establishments exist in most tourist enclaves of Toledo, Seville, Cordoba, Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca and Madrid, which would be local for years one of the best antique shops in Spain.
